Shannon Elliott

Violist Shannon is an active freelance musician and violin/viola teacher. Shannon was the orchestra violist for the Off-Broadway production of Comfort Women: A New Musical at Playwrights Horizons’ Peter Jay Sharp Theater, and she held the position of Assistant Principal viola in the Garden State Philharmonic for two seasons. During her time in this orchestra she had the opportunity to perform on the elite stages of Carnegie Hall and the Strand Theater with the Atlantic City Ballet. Shannon has been teaching the violin and viola for six years, and has experience teaching violin lessons both in music schools and privately to both adults and kids. Her students have all successfully passed exams they have elected to take, such as the ABRSM and NYSSMA exam. Her educational goal for her students is for them to develop a deeper love of the violin/viola and to gain not only musical skills, but important life skills from the violin lessons such as discipline, patience, and perseverance. She is currently an Adjunct String Faculty member at New York University, where she recently completed her Master of Music after receiving her Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music in 2017.
